Each year the BCSSA recognizes individuals and organizations for their outstanding contributions to support and enhance public school education in the Province of British Columbia. This year we are pleased to announce two winners of the Award of Recognition. Please join us in Kelowna to honour the following award winners:

Salt Spring Island Conservancy
The Salt Spring Island Conservancy helps their community preserve natural habitats and offers programs and support to over 700 children in grades 1-8 every year with their Stewards in Training Program.

Strings Mentorship Program
Professor Ann Elliott-Goldschmid, Artist in Residence and Professor Pamela Highbaugh Aloni, Artist in Residence have created this program that supplies, at no cost to teachers, professional development for music teachers in the Greater Victoria school district. This program also allows for Victoria music teachers to use student musicians and professional musicians to act as mentors to students.
