3-Luster and Magnetism

    Luster: When you tilt a mineral into the light and it shines as it reflects back, then it has a metallic luster. If it should reflect back slightly, then it would be not metallic. Below is an image of a prism which demonstrates the property of light reflection.

    Magnetism: Found only in minerals that contain iron, magnetism is what happens when a compass’s needle is attracted to the chunk of rock. Below is an image of a compass, with its image pointing "north."
